Restrictions are starting to lift, but there's a good chance we'll never quite be back to normal. There's also a good chance that the media and the government will try this again, mandating masks and creating an environment of fear.
The question is: what will you do when the next wave hits?
Perhaps it won't be COVID. But, there will be similarities. What actions in the last year did you take that you would repeat, and which ones would you do differently or not at all?
Trauma is a word that we don't like very much. Perhaps it has to do with our association of the word with the traumatic events in life or perhaps we think it only applies to those who have experienced something relatively horrific: battle, loss, severe injury, or sexual abuse.
While all of those things certainly include trauma, the definition of what is considered a traumatic event for our minds has widened over the years.
